Making Ready for the New Year and a FREEBIE

It has been a while since I made a post on here. With Tom home and all the extra things going on, it is busy, busy. If that were not enough, we have been taking care of Lucy (see below) the little blue heeler that he will take back to Barrow, AK with him. I have grumbled when her sharp teeth connect and when I have had to take her out into the freezing cold, but she owns a big corner of my heart and I am going to miss her like crazy.

Last night while Lucy was sleeping, I had a few minutes to play with Photoshop. This is a mini that I made for the December Color Challenge at Ivy Scraps. You can grab the link in the gallery. If you download, leave some love.

I'm not sure that I will get anywhere near this blog until after Tom leaves on the 3rd, so will wish each of you a safe and Happy New Year!! See you in 2011!
Hugs to all, Jan

Christmas Baking and a Challenge too

Although I am not quite sure where I am going to find the time, it is time to start the Christmas baking! Each year I think I will do something different and by the time I make the favorites that everyone asks for we have so many cookies and candies that it takes forever for it to be eaten. We give plenty away too. Mom and Russell like the snowballs and when I saw this recipe in the Taste Of Home Holiday magazine, I thought it might be nice to try. So, when I drag out the sugar and flour, I will see how it goes.

The recipe challenge at Ivy Scraps this month is Cookies (what else? LOL!!) If you find that you have a few spare minutes, why don't you make a layout to share your favorite cookie recipe?

I used the Winter Holidays Mega Kit to create my recipe layout. There are many fun
things to work with, I just need to learn how to get the recipe in a smaller space!

Me time :)

It is cold and snowy outside, so after dinner I spent the evening working on some scrapbook pages with some recent photos. I knew exactly which kits I wanted to use and that was a major jump-start. The colors in Christmas Joy work so well with Ry and the parade photos. Christmas Magic is more traditional Christmas colors and I loved working with it too. You can find both kits by Gloria Val Verde at Ivy Scraps.

I have a new kit in the store too, but will save that one for another post. Happy Tuesday!! Hugs, Jan

Life is good

We picked Tom up at the airport on Friday morning. It has been almost a year since he was home, so you can imagine all of the activity around here. It is so nice to have him here again. Ryley has been his constant little shadow and it is cute to watch them together. Poor little Ry when Uncle Tom has to return to Alaska.

Yesterday was the Christmas parade and although Pap didn't take the old truck in the parade, we did walk down to be a spectator. I got some decent photos for scrapping and need to do that before they are lost in the folders forever. I got a new kit called Christmas Joy by Gloria Val Verde that is going to work perfect with this photo.

Hugs to all, Jan
